Welcome to the Curriculum Validation Reviewer Induction training page. This page has been designed to introduce new reviewers to the APHEA validation processes.

To continue we ask that you:

  1. Watch 3 short videos
  2. Complete 2 exercises on your own
  3. Prepare a third exercise for group training
  4. Attend a short video conference with the secretariat and /or Board of Accreditation.

STEP 5: Video conference

At the beginning of your training the APHEA secretariat will be in touch to arrange a video-conference by either, skype, telephone or zoom. Please ensure that all activities have been undertaken by the time of the conference and also to make a note of questions you may need answering.

Target Group

New APHEA Curriculum Validation Reviewers

Aim

To familiarise new reviewers to the APHEA Curriculum Validation Review process in order that they feel comfortable in independently undertaking their reviews

Outcomes

At the end of the process new reviewers should be able to:

a. Understand the Purpose & Remit of Validation
b. Know where to find and use the relevant documentation
c. Independently conduct the review process
d. Uphold APHEA’s formative led approach
e. Identify the APHEA people responsible to ask for help if needed

Objectives

a. Help reviewers understand APHEA Validation and how it fits within wider processes
b. Develop an understanding of APHEA’s approach to accreditation
c. Inform reviewers how the processes take place
d. Enable finding the relevant documentation
e. Allow reviewers to calibrate their responses
f. Provide opportunities for questions to be answered

Activities

1. Asynchronous (circa 40 minutes):
a. Watch small induction videos
b. Complete 2 exercises independently

2. Synchronous (circa 45 minutes):
a. Conduct small calibration exercise
b. Meet other reviewers and / or APHEA team and have questions answered
